Heilians Lab & Catholic University Screen Cadaver Anatomy Workshop
Date
06.24.2023
I had the unique opportunity to participate in a Screen Cadaver Anatomy Workshop hosted by Heilians Lab and Catholic University. During this session, a professional anatomist performed a real-time dissection of a human cadaver while simultaneously explaining the musculoskeletal system in depth.
Until then, my understanding of bones, fascia, muscles, and nerve bundles had been largely theoretical-limited to textbook diagrams and lecture slides. Seeing these structures directly and in motion on the screen provided a vivid, three-dimensional perspective that books alone could never deliver.
At first, I felt a natural hesitation at the idea of observing a human cadaver. However, I soon recognized the profound educational value and the respectful, scientific context of the experience. Viewing the cadaver not just as a body, but as a generous donor to science, helped me overcome any initial fear and approach the study with gratitude and curiosity.
This workshop gave me a tangible understanding of human anatomy, reinforcing key concepts in musculoskeletal health and clinical application. Upon completion, I received an official certificate of participation, marking this as an important milestone in my continuing education in health and movement sciences.
